TTRNO at New Orleans’ Bull Run Event @ NOLA Motorsports

There are some perks to being in the powersports business and NOLA Motorsports Park’s opening is sure to enhance these experiences for us.  Last Wednesday NOLA invited us to attend the Bull Run Live Rally as it came thru New Orleans on their trek from Las Vegas to Miami.  The Bull Run is described on their website as “the most glamorous and high profile of the new breed of high-end luxury lifestyle automotive rallies”.  I would sum that up as “race” from Las Vegas to Miami with very expensive cars attended by celebrities and unique personalities.

In their seven day trek across the country, everyday is a new check point event.  The New Orleans event was a kart race at the brand new NOLA Motorsports Park cart track.  This was NOLA’s first event on the kart track.  The prior day’s rain, couple with the fact that the curbs had not been laid yet, made for some interesting racing.

The day was attended by Bull Run participants as well as NOLA members.  Member, Chef Scott Boswell, cooled us off with his incredible Stanley snowballs, and of course Red Bull and Vitiman Water were there to keep us hidrated in the heat.  After the Bull Run participants finished their racing the packed their cars they continued on their trek to Miami.  Then….the real fun began.  Club members, along with NOLA staff then took over the kart track for some excellent first laps on the newly paved surface.

The most exciting part of this event is the potential that NOLA Motorsports Park has for New Orleans, and the region. In addition to being a place that we can all enjoy motorcycles, cars, and karts it is also a place that will be New Orleans on the motorsports map. It will bring world class racing to a region that has never experinced anything like this. We see this, and believe in growing it.  Over the next fews weeks the first phase will open to the public.  By late fall we will have our 1000 square foot speed shop open and we will be dragging our knees around the new north track.
